These simple steps can give you an advantage in case of a terrorist attack:
1. Be aware of your surroundings. Know where emergency exits are located
in buildings you frequent. Notice where exits are when you enter unfamiliar
buildings. Also, be aware of alternative exits.
2. Think about how you would leave a crowded public area or get out
of heavy traffic if you had to. Do not be afraid to move or leave if
you feel uncomfortable or threatened.
3. Take precautions when traveling. Be aware of unusual behavior. Do
not accept packages from strangers. Do not leave your luggage unattended.
If you see something unusual such as suspicious packages or strange devices,
tell police or security personnel.
4. Listen to authorities. They will help you decide if you are in immediate danger.
